ST. DOMINIC CHOIR
In the early 1970's when the Catholic community in Adweso started growing, some interested members of this group decided to form a Singing Band to feature during their Prayers Meetings and other gatherings. Under the Leadership of Mad Christine Korkuga and Mr. Joseph Insaidoo, the visiting music leader, the group grew in numbers with Mr. Daniel Kwame Darko Assumadu and Mrs. Anthonia Bilson joining hands to share their rich ideas.
By the Christmas in 1975, the number of singers had increased to fifteen with the Youth dominating. By 1976, the Singing Band was joined by some choristers from St. George Catholic Church to sing at the inauguration Service of a newly built Parish Hall by Rev Fr. Hans for Youth Programmes.
On 9th March, 1993, the Singing band had developed into a choir with a total number of (40) Forty and were initiated as choristers and presented with new Choir robes by The Parish Priest Very Rev. Josef Sprehe and Patrons of the choir.
ROLE OF THE CHOIR
As a Catholic Choir, its role is to enhance and elevate the singing at Mass and every activity that is initiated by the church.
The Choir through its singing evangelizes the word of God. Make the faithful grow in their relationship with God.
The choir on behalf of the entire church, visit the sick, and the bereaved to console them
MISSION
To lead and enhance the Congregation's worship through music, fostering Spiritual growth and faith formation.
GOALS
Leading and encouraging Congregational Singing Providing good liturgical musical experience to foster Spiritual growth and fellowship among the Faithful.
